At Greene & Wood Family Dentistry, we use cutting-edge dental technology because we strongly believe our patients are entitled to the most comfortable, safe, and effective treatments available today. Whether you’re visiting us for a dental cleaning, examination, or one of our many other dental services, we will use the latest in dental technology to help ensure your ultimate satisfaction. Our doctors are dedicated to upholding the highest standards in patient care and satisfaction.

Air Abrasion Dentistry

Air abrasion treatment is a technology that allows Dr. Greene and Dr. Wood to bypass using a drill. The tool functions like a mini-sandblaster. It sprays out a fine stream of particles made of silica, aluminum oxide, or a baking soda mixture. Our doctors aim the stream at stained or decayed portions of your teeth and effectively sandblast the decay away. The particles are suctioned out of your mouth with a thin tube.

Dexis Carivu™

CariVu is a portable device that detects any cracks and lesions resulting from decay by bathing the tooth in safe light near the infrared spectrum. Tooth enamel appears translucent in the images it takes, but decay shows up as dark patches.

Diagnodent Pen

Diagnodent is a small portable laser that can detect even the smallest area of tooth decay before it’s visible. This highly advanced dental technology is non-invasive and painless. Diagnodent uses a safe laser scanning system to measure fluorescence inside each tooth’s structure.

Digital X-rays

Using digital X-rays allows us to take detailed pictures of your jaw and bone structure with less radiation than the traditional X-ray. This alleviates safety concerns associated with x-rays for both patients and staff while still rendering excellent images.

Intraoral Camera Technology

An intraoral camera is a small, pen-like device with a camera on the end. The camera contains a bright LED which helps us diagnose cavities or fractures that are difficult to see with the naked eye.

Laser Therapy

Gum disease has also been found, in some studies, to increase the likelihood of several serious diseases including heart disease, diabetes, and respiratory disease. Modern dentistry has found that lasers can be very effective in treating gum disease.

Teeth Whitening Trays

Done in a professional dental setting, this is a safe, effective way to brighten your smile. Depending on the whitening method you choose, results can be dramatic: in-office whitening, for example, can lighten teeth three to eight shades in a single hour.

Teeth Whitening with Opalescence Go

We offer Opalescence Go whitening because of the quality of whitening and the low cost compared with other methods, as well as the convenience of being able to do it at home.

Teeth Whitening With Zoom

Our Philips Zoom Whitening system is a great option that can help get your teeth up to eight shades whiter in as little as one visit. This system is supervised by our dental team and is safe and customizable. It makes use of desensitizers—to reduce sensitivity and protect tooth enamel—and has intensity settings that can be adjusted to ensure your comfort.

Ultrasonics

Ultrasonics are instruments that use sonic energy to clean debris from around a tooth more efficiently. These instruments have smaller tips that allow us to complete scaling (removal of the tartar or calcified plaque from the surfaces of the teeth) with greater precision, giving patients better results.
